DAVID AKSIM (Vice President / Secretary) has a heart for getting people to engage. As a musician, he has enjoyed leading worship at a previous church. As a Business Intelligence Manager, he enjoys teaching people about data and showing them how it can help improve their business. As an LCA parent and Board member, he enjoys making sure the kids have a great time at events like our annual Walk/Run and Water Day.
David has spent more than 20 years in the Business Intelligence field working for finance and healthcare companies. He currently leads a team of analysts at Genesis Healthcare in Kennett Square. Along with an analytic background, he also had a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Drexel University.
David enjoys singing and playing guitar, watching football, and exercising with his wife Jennifer. The Landenberg residents are proud to support LCA because of the wonderful education and experience their daughter has had at LCA.
DARREN CHICK (Treasurer) is an accomplished executive, thought leader, and strategist. He leads growth by identifying opportunities, re-engineering, high-performance execution, and finally, in some cases, architecting custom software.
Darren’s particularly effective when turning around operations struggling with process complexity and tough economic conditions. He helps companies realize unfulfilled potential, and move beyond survival to prosperity. Darren thrives on removing bottlenecks and barriers that limit productivity and profitability.
Darren has served in various roles including board member, technology lead, parent of three alumni students, and presently, treasurer, since LCA’s founding in 2001. He is married to his bride of 24 years and lives in southern Chester County, Pennsylvania.
SARA CHICK is a small business owner of a health and wellness business. She previously served as Executive Assistant and Scheduler for former Delaware Congressman, Michael N. Castle. She previously served part-time as the assistant to the Finance Director of the Castle Campaign Fund, during the campaign for the U.S. Senate. Her responsibilities included all aspects of fundraising coordination including collaboration with major donors, assisting them in preparing fundraising communications and list management for general contributors, major donors, and Political Action Committees. Before taking time off when she had children, Sara worked for six years for the Republican Party in Delaware, where she maintained records and prepared filings to the Federal Election Commission as well as providing documentation to ensure compliance with state and federal election laws.
Sara has served in a variety of positions on Landenberg Christian Academy’s board of directors, where she was a founding member in 2001. She is a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church where she is involved in several ministries including the Women’s Ministry, Pioneer Girls (mentoring high school girls), and nursery. Sara graduated from Houghton College, with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Communication. She resides in Kemblesville, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Darren, and their three children, Jonathan, Mackenzie, and Madeleine.
DALE LOWE (President) is a registered nurse and hospital administrator with a varied experience in both the delivery of healthcare and the business aspects of healthcare. Following over 10 years of practicing in the clinical setting – primarily in the Emergency Room and Trauma Center – he began his management and administrative career focused on quality improvement, risk management and physician credentialing. Dale is a Certified Professional in Health Care Quality.
Dale became the Director of Utilization Management and Reimbursement Services, concentrating on the business aspects of healthcare in the context of insurance company reimbursement and denials. Dale completed a 26-year career at Christiana Care Health System as the Director of the Preventive Medicine and Rehabilitation Center where he was charged with migrating the delivery of health care into the community setting. Dale is currently the Director of Operations at the Nemours Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Nemours/Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children. Dale is a graduate of the Nursing School of Wilmington, obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Wilmington College and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Wilmington University.
Dale enjoys the outdoors through hunting, fishing, camping, golf, and skiing. In addition to service at LCA, Dale evidences his dedication to service and community through his participation as (a) the Treasurer and member of the Executive Committee for the Board of Directors on the Avon Grove High School Football Boosters Association, (b) service as an Assistant Scoutmaster and Crew Advisor for the Boy Scouts of America and (c) a member of the Board of Directors for Reins of Life – a therapeutic riding academy – located in Landenberg, PA. Dale resides in Lincoln University with his family; he is the father of three, grandfather to two grand-daughters and is a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Kemblesville, PA.
JULIE MALONE is the Administrator at Landenberg Christian Academy. Prior to working at LCA, Julie spent 10 years as a stay at home mom, working full time on raising her four children. During that time Julie was actively involved in her church, school, and community. She spent time serving as the coordinator of the MOPS program (Mothers of Preschoolers) at her church, leading women’s Bible studies, and serving as the PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) president.
Prior to having children, she taught elementary school in both private and public school systems in Maryland. Julie graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education from Messiah College. Julie resides in Oxford, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Tim, and four daughters.
TIM MCHUGH is a physical therapist with SOS Physical Therapy in Newark, DE. After earning his bachelors degree from the University of Maryland, Tim received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Elon University. Tim is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist and is credentialed in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy. He primarily serves in patient care with a focus on value-based interventions and outcomes-accountable care, as well as monitoring and coordinating care delivery for patients with musculoskeletal disorders.
His desire to serve is what led him into the healthcare field and continues to push his growth and development both professionally and personally. Professionally, Tim relies on strong clinical reasoning skills and constant re-assessment to ensure that he’s reached the best clinical solution possible.
Tim and his wife Bethany are members of Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Newark where they have served in a number of ways, including in both the adult and children’s Sunday school programs. Tim and Bethany reside in Newark with their four children.
